Fall trip 2013 Glenwood Springs / Aspen
On the top of Independence Pass on the way home was much better than on our way out to aspen due to it snowing so we opted to stay in the car on the way there. Freaking stupid gov shut down all national parks and anything related and so the whole point of the trip was to see the maroon bells but the gates were locked and it was too far (10miles) to hike in with the kids. We did however do a hike to Hanging Lake in Glenwood Canyon which was spectacular even though Natalie had super bad constipation so whining was part of our hike. We also did ice cream cones, swimming at the pool, walks around the city at night, climbed on bull dozers, saw where Doc Holiday died, and of course lots of beautiful scenery as we did our drive and its never a road trip without "are we there yet" about fifty times! Here's a couple iPhone pix for the record.

National Parks Tour
My photography friend Lee and I went on a 5 days photography / camping trip to Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Zion, Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef. I wanted to post a couple of shots I took from my phone in order to get a quick post up to share. We also saw tons of cool things along the way as well like old mining towns, waterfalls, monument valley and horseshoe bend which all made for a fantastical trip!

Birthdays 2013. 35 + 5
Natalie and dads birthday was a family fun day. LOTS of cake from Costco. Here are some iPhone shots. I did use a real camera but have not processed them yet.
Last year Natalie got a goldfish for her birthday and one year later to the day little "cupcake" died. A very tragic way to start your 5th birthday. Any way one of the outings was to find a new fish. She named her Ariel after the little mermaid .

The day we sold the Trooper
We sold our Trooper today, we have had a lot a good memories in that truck here in Colorado. It's a bittersweet feeling that its gone now but we sold it to another young couple who just moved here from Florida and they needed a "Colorado Car". Good times.
Here are some last pictures.

Sledding and hot chocolate
An hour over at cottonwood creek park sledding in -10 with the wind was enough to bring us home for some hot chocolate.
