Rafting on the Arkansas River...

Jenny & Jeremy came to visit us late June, and we had a BLAST taking them on their first white-water rafting trip! We did a full-day on the Bighorn Sheep section of the Arkansas River in the Canyon City area of Colorado. It was just awesome. During the morning, we had a stop for a break by this big rock outcropping, and we got to jump off into the river. It was really fun and such a rush. The afternoon had the bigger rapids to go through. The whole day was so fun, and we ended the day taking them to (drumroll, please...) ROYAL GORGE! We'll skip the gorge pics from this trip since all of you blog readers are becoming very familiar with the place!

Proof that I jumped!

Tyler LOVES to eat!!

We actually began foods with Tyler at about 4 months old in hopes that I would be able to start getting more sleep, but we hadn't done any pictures of the messy endeavors until June. Tyler actually loves absolutely everything we've ever given him, and in the past month or so he's been doing true solid foods with Cheerios, mac 'n cheese, hot dogs, and frozen peas topping his list of favorites. These are some pretty fun pictures of him enjoying a meal!

Tyler at 7 months

So, back in JUNE (forget that it's almost September...), Tyler was 7 months old. He's just such a happy guy (unless he's hungry!). We did a fun mini-hike in Cheyenne Canyon and took some 7-month portraits in the canyon. It was a great night, and by the end, just like most kids, Tyler was asleep in the carrier. I just love how babies become dead weight when you're carrying them...

Enjoy some favorites of Tyler and our hike and also my favorite updated siblings pic...

This one is awesome because it shows you why he's our "Rockhopper"...if you know what the penguin looks like, you'll see the resemblance with those long tufts of hair that stick out from behind his ears!

Garden of the Gods Hike

Back in June we did a little evening family hike. Natalie is doing really well on her "own feet" when we're out and about and did awesome on this 15-20 min uphill hike. There were some pretty big steps in the trail, and she did great with all of it! This spot is called The Siamese Twins and is where the well-known hole in the rock formation frames Pikes Peak. It was a beautiful summer evening!

Natalie on the trail...everywhere we go, we take our "friends"!

Our happy guy at 7 months old...

Times like these remind us why we love living in Colorado...we get these views all the time and can up and decide at 7 pm to go take a hike!
