Fall trip 2013 Glenwood Springs / Aspen

On the top of Independence Pass on the way home was much better than on our way out to aspen due to it snowing so we opted to stay in the car on the way there.  Freaking stupid gov shut down all national parks and anything related and so the whole point of the trip was to see the maroon bells but the gates were locked and it was too far (10miles) to hike in with the kids.  We did however do a hike to Hanging Lake in Glenwood Canyon which was spectacular even though Natalie had super bad constipation so  whining was part of our hike.  We also did ice cream cones, swimming at the pool, walks around the city at night, climbed on bull dozers, saw where Doc Holiday died, and of course lots of beautiful scenery as we did our drive and its never a road trip without "are we there yet" about fifty times! Here's a couple iPhone pix for the record.
