Happy Moms Day!

The thermostat sits at a cool 55 today and gray skies overhead but it's still Mother's Day and we are going to get our GRILL ON! We swung by King Soopers on our way home from church and our quick little walk and picked up some wild Alaskan salmon to throw on the grill tonight! Grass!

last year here in colorado springs was hard because we had some late freezes and killed a lot of the lawns here, plus we had a fungus that was called "brown patch" , I know REAL creative but thats what is was it left a brown patch of dead grass. It basically killed the grassroots and so you had to dig out the top soil and throw it out and start over. So anyway this spring I planted grass seed (kentucky blue grass) and have been watering like crazy. A few days ago I discovered that it has paid off and here are the results.

Buggy's walking!

So our little Natalie is starting to WALK! Nana (my mom) worked really hard with her right around the birthday, and I'm sure that made a difference! Since being so adept at crawling, there wasn't a huge motivation for her to walk, but last Friday, I put her against the sliding glass doors (just to have her work on standing), and to my great surprise, she up and took 5 steps to me! She did it again and again. Good job little one! She continues to need a little "set-up" and a fun target (like mom or dad), but she's starting to get more and more confident and very proud of herself!

Also, I had one of those moments when you realize how much your baby has grown...we get these monthly postcards with a book recommendation for their age. Well, they've always said, "Your baby would love..." and this latest one said, "Your TODDLER would love..." I was like, "TODDLER?!?!" Where did the time go?

And...I just have to clarify that I DID help with the clean-up of the "poop episode." Yes, I was gagging a little, but we did have a team effort for the clean up. AND, I ALWAYS do the diaper loads of laundry!

oh poop.....whoops!

Yesterday afternoon at 3 or so Natalie went down for a nap and then woke up and wasn't crying just playing in her bed like she sometimes does. It was funny because we were doing stuff around the house and when Lindsay thought she heard Natalie talking in her bedroom she listened outside her room with her ear to the door to make sure she heard her talking so we wouldn't wake her up early. (Ok this next part gets pretty funny!)

So Lindsay heard her making noise and opened the door and Lindsay just about puked and ran outside the room and yelled for me to GET IN HERE! Well let's put it this way....Natalie had peed and pooped her diaper and decided to take OFF her diaper and then play with her POOP, naked, none the less! (AHHHH come on did you have to tell us that?) YES!

So Natalie had poop caked in her hair, mashed in between her fingers like mud and all over her bed rails. It was like a chocolate birthday cake smeared all over her face, we still are not sure if she ate any. 2 baths later and a load of HEAVY DUTY laundry we were back to normal.

Buggy's Zoo Trip April 20th

When Nana was here just over a week ago for Natalie's (and mine) birthday we decided to go visit the zoo here in Colorado Springs. It was a beautiful day to go and see the animals and take some pictures! The giraffes were mine and Natalie's favorite because you could feed and pet them!
